Dudezashi in BOOM!

Sister Diane of CraftyPod fame (as well as a lot of other"fames" too numerous to list), as you may know, has come out with a book on the art of Kanzashi. On Saturday, she'll be hanging out with me on DudeCraft as a stop on her blogger's book tour. I'm beyond excited. In preparation for our chat, I thought I'd better try my hand at some Dudezashi. Results above.

  1. Spec-tac-u-lar! Excellent fabric choices, and where, may I ask, can one obtain those cool crackle buttons?

  2. Haha! Thanks Diane. I get the crackle buttons from a hippie shop around the corner from my studio. If you eat all your vegetables and behave yourself, I might send you some. :-)

  3. Love the fabrics you chose! I just realized that with the right fabrics and some fussy cutting, you could create truly spectacular kanzashi.

  4. FG - Yeah, I was sort of trying to cut the green fabric to come out a certain way. It is sort of fussy. You Kenzashi petals have to have exactly the same folds and end up being exactly the same length after trimming in order for it to come out right. Mine were a little off. Thanks for the comment!
