Sha Do Lamp

German lighting company, Aeneus has come out with a line of lamps that cast these incredible patterns on your walls. Surely, dear DIY braintrust, there is a way to do this ourselves. First one to come up with a tutorial wins my undying gratitude and a cookie. from Fresh Home

No tutorial but it looks like a simple paper cut project done on thin plexi and sandwiched up against the glass shade would do the trick, these are realy beautifull thanks for sharing!

COOKIE!? Too bad it's time for bed.

hmmm... the key to this is how the light is emitted. I wonder if there is a conical shaped mirror in the center.

Brian - I think you're right on track. Like a Fresnel theatrical light reflector aimed back at the bulb. Thanks for the comment.

Such an elegant concept. I love it.

PinkLizzy - Yeah, right? It would be great as hallway light in a hotel.

It needs to have a clear light bulb in it, to provide a "point source," for sharp shadows. With a frosted bulb, the shadows would be fuzzy.

Thanks Darryl!
