College Kid Builds One Bad Electric Motorcycle!

Tip of the hat to Tom Miceli who build this electric motorcycle on the chasis of a stripped down Kawasaki Ninja. With a top speed of 70 mph and a range of 60 miles, this bike is the baddest, most eco-friendly commuter out there. Uh, Kawasaki? Here's a hint: hire this kid immediately. link

  1. I love how Tom is saying 'look, it can be done, so lets start doing it!'. Brilliant!

  2. Finally! A good looking electric bike! I think he's just done more to show the feasibility of EV motorcycles with the design than most engineering innovations in other bikes. It will be interesting to see what he follows it up with. Great work!

  4. The ability to make a practical electric two wheeler has never been in question. Making one that doesn't cost $10,000 is the issue.
If this kid can make one by himself for $12,000 then the big bike companies should be able to pull it off for MUCH less than that.

  5. Tim,

Agreed. Should be plenty cheap enough for the "Big 4" to take a crack at it. Thanks for the comment.
