Make and Meaning

I have a confession to make. I've been keeping something from you. For the last few months, Diane Gilleland (craftypod.com) and I have been working on a top secret project that, only now, is seeing the light of day.

I called Diane way back in May or June and floated the idea of collaborating on a different kind of craft blog. A blog where we could explore the questions having to do with the nature of creativity and what it means to work with one's hands. An animated conversation ensued, resulting in the decision to green light the project and ask several of the most prolific and talented craft bloggers to write for us. To our amazement, everyone said yes, and we couldn't be more delighted with the result.

Our hope now is that you will join the conversation. We all agree that what we really want is for the site to ignite conversation. We are hoping that you'll all be active participants in defining the direction and scope of the blog and that some of you may even want to become contributors. We would like to include you in the "we" that is "we", as it were.

So, without further ado, here's Make and Meaning.
