Obsessions

Apparently, this installation took place in Amsterdam in 2008, but I'm just finding out about it now. Incredible, no? 250.000 euro coins went into it. The time lapse video is pretty impressive, and if you'd like to know more, the whole project was documented pretty well (including the surprise ending) over at Sagmeister Inc.'s site.

  1. That's one of the most beautiful art installations I've even seen.

  3. And such a true statement as well. I've never known the especially "inspired" to be particularly... stable. :-\

  4. Swept up every coin to preserve the exhibit?! Good grief!

  5. We've recently had a similar "controversy" here in Detroit where some probably-Banksy graffiti had been discovered. In order to "protect/preserve" the artwork, the walls have been demolished and removed from the location. (One 75,000-pound piece of which is now on ebay.)
