The Paintings of Paul Heaston

A lot of paintings bother me these days, but I shut up about it because I am clearly in the minority and adding my opinion to the conversation would serve no purpose, whatsoever. That's why I only post things I like. I like Paul Heaston's paintings, and I'm not even going to tell you why. :-)

  3. oh you cruel, cruel blogger, playing with us defenselessly curious readers... ;-) here we are, trying to retain naivete and a sense that the world is safe and just and sensible, that we can trust our favorite bloggers not to toy with us, and there you go dangling carrots... ;-)

  4. I can see why you like his work, it looks like real people he pulled off the street. He gives a realistic image of them & their clothing on a simple background and still lets us see that person's personality.
    good clean, classic portraiture.

  5. I too can see why you like his work Paul.

And I too wouldn't mind hearing why a lot of art bothers you.

I know a girl who paints - amazing paintings. She paints because she has too. It's like breathing to her.
Call me old-fashioned, but to me that's what makes her an artist.

  6. I'm pretty curious about why a lot of painting bothers you, and I think it could be helpful for you to share....Maybe you see something that folks painting are largely missing? Maybe your opinion could shed light on what is lacking and inspire better work. I think you should share. The people who read your blog are way too curious for teasers like that ;)
