B&W Nautilus Knock Offs

Life is full of choices. You could either buy a small home here in Durham, or you could spend your $60,000 on a pair of B&W Nautilus speakers (the preferred speaker for many an audiophile out there), OR you could do what Lluis Pujol did and spend a mere 400 hours building your own pair from scratch. I don't know how they sound, but he nailed the look, alright. Beautiful.

  1. Daaaaaaaaaamn! That's some extreme audio!

  2. Nice try. Nautilus uses exponential tapered tubes to absorb the rear radiation. To make it work properly he should try to get hold of a B&W 'nautilus' tweeter, which are on a lot of their current high end models. The tweeter motor has an open magnet system to allow the sound to come through the magnet down to the tube. Its pretty essential. Otherwise this won't sound much like a nautilus. The bass might do though.(From someone in the know)
