Soviet Safety Posters

I found these gems over at English|Russia this morning. Seems our Eastern cousins have a lot of problem with electricity, bricks, trains, and machinery. Hopefully these posters saved a few lives. "Look out, man! You're stepping on fish!"

  1. Holy crap! These are cool, weird, funny, and slightly icky! I love the parent with the abacus brain and child with the calculator brain and human and robots bonding over a rainbow of happiness.

  2. Sorry, I was commenting on the children's book that followed the weird accident prevention posters on the English/Russia site.

  3. T,

Yeah, I don't know why those were included. They are Russian, but they aren't safety posters. Weird.

  4. When I was in St. Petersburg, there were these road safety signs .. you know, the yellow and black type with pictures, no words. They were very clearly warning you not to drive off the street into the canals! I guess it happens often enough that they needed to warn people *smiles*
