Crochet and Razor Wire

I'm digging Crystal Gregory's installation called "Invasive Crochet", for the New York show "Art in Odd Places". This from her site:
"Invasive Crochet challenges gender roles by placing handwork on hardened city surfaces around New York. Crocheting lace doilies onto the razor wire of an abandoned lot for the 14th Street public art show Art in Odd Places, smothering the urban landscape in a soft, decorative, and familiar juxtaposition."

  1. This is fantastic! Thank you for sharing. Sometimes things that become part of our infrastructure of life are so cold and unwelcoming. This truly makes one think outside the box and appreciate what art can do for otherwise less than desirable surroundings.
