Enveloped - The Paintings of Sage Vaughn

So digging these manila envelope paintings and collages by Sage Vaughn. Especially the wildlife. Speaking of which, I should include a warning here that some of the pieces at the link include human representations of nekkidity (PG-13).

  1. Great stuff, but I think we should all get together and send her a pad of paper. I think she deserves it.

  2. Terry,

C'mon man, the medium is the message, dontcha' know? Let's get groovy with McLuhan on this one. Light bulb, man. Light bulb! Whoa, what was in those brownies I just ate?

  3. Funny, Terry. But don't give her wire. And don't you two collaborate or ... oh my, I cannot even imagine the messages that would come of that. Ok, Go Collaborate! :D

  5. Manila paper certainly has a nice equality.

  6. I thought Terry was being lightly sarcastic because of all the common materials he uses.

I love her medium and especially like "sooner or later."

  7. Looking at the site, non twee and reminiscent of Banksy, which is a good thing.

  8. Laura,

Yes, I thought so too. I never take comments too seriously from a man who uses Cheetos as his vehicle of expression (to great effect, I might add). :-)

  9. Women shut up and submit to your man!

I needed a warning for that rather than the nekkidity. Loved the work despite that inflammatory statement.

  10. The wildlife aspect of it made me think of ROA, only in mini form.
